If you have ever watched the movie 'Contact' which poster is displayed on the left, you would know that the screenplay of the movie is about the humankind seeking the companionship across the vast universe. Although in the play, the pretty young woman scientist (starred by Jodie Foster) successfully received the replying pulsating signal from a far-off solar system, in reality the case is not true, or at least not yet true. Scientists, astronomers, exobiologists(?) are still working hard around the clock to spot any colonies of intelligent extra-terresterials!, if there is any!

Apart from the sci-fi movie you watched, do you believe in the existence of other races out there somewhere in the vast space? For me personally I don't know the answer yet. This issue itself still confuses me very much. Besides only a little fraction of the vast space that has already been scanned by our scientists. Consider that the scanning proccess of the space began only 50 years ago, it means that the part of the space that has been completely scanned is only up to the approximate circumference of 300,000 x 60 x 60 x 24 x 365 x 50 = 567,648,000,000,000 kilometers away from the earth. According to scientists that the edge of our universe is about 5 billion light years away ( I don't dare to translate it into kilometers since my calculator will not be able to accomodate to this extrahuge number!! hehehe...). It means that the part of the space that yet to be scanned is as far as (5,000,000,000 - 50) light years away to go! Whew! What a number!

In other words, with the present technology we are using now, we have to wait for 4,999,999,950 more years to completely finish scanning our universe, and to know whether there are advanced civilisations or not within this vast universe! Or are we completely a lone species in this huge universe?? Are we really unique? Those questions before-mentioned also lead to other questions: If there are some far more advanced civilisations residing somewhere far-off in distant galaxies, with modern technologies in hand, with ultramodern telecommunication system and starships that can zap near the speed of light, why don't they try to do the same which means to contact us? why don't their ultramodern spaceships flock to visit our blue planet?? Are they not interested in searching for other civilisations in the benefit of mutual knowledge sharing?? Or perhaps we are too primitive for them to draw their attention to us! Heck! Who knows??

Ok. Let's forget about those questions above. I would like to correlate the existence of superior aliens in the outer space with the religion (Islam) I learnt in school. I remember when I was in school, I was told by my religion teacher that human is the most perfect being amongst other beings. If there are more 'superior' aliens with more 'superior' intelligent somewehre in the distant, then where is the perfectness of the human beings? Even though I understand that perfectness is not always attributable to intelligence. Perfectness also covers a great variety of dimensions. But intelligence I think is the most profound dimension that a species owns concerning perfectness. As we see, that that superior intelligence of the human beings on this planet that makes homo sapiens so unique, so powerful, and they take the greatest role in shaping our planet! This powerful weapon of intelligence make our species survive through the test of time! With our intelligence too, other species with mammoth bodies, or with sharper claws and fangs, or the ones with deadly venoms cannot destroy us!

Now can any of you, my bros and sisters in faith, come with a good answer concerning the existence of aliens and our superiority? I would like to hear from you. Ok. I think that's all for today.
